Upon downloading iOS4.1, we noticed a new icon in our email App. When you open an email, you will see a small box in the bottom-middle of your iPhone's screen:
Clicking on it simply archives our mail. Which is cool if you want to store the email for later, but most of us probably just delete anything we are finished reading. We don't need it anymore, right?
Some of you may remember that it looked something like this with iOS4:
This was ok, because if did want to archive our mail, we could do it from the inbox by swiping (It used to be a way to delete mail, but that changed with iOS4).
So here's the problem: You now have iOS4.1 and can't figure out how to delete a freakin' email. Where's the trashcan? Where's the delete button?
The default settings have done away with that. Luckily, there is a very simple fix.
1) Go to "Settings."
2) Scroll down to "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."
3) Click on your email account.
4) "Archive Messages" is set to "On" just touch the word "On" to switch the setting off.
5) Now when you check your email, you can delete messages instead of archiving them and filling up your inbox with email messages you don't need anymore.
