iControlPad Uses Bluetooth Rather Than Dock Connector

In an effort to avoid troubles and woes that may be associated with using Apple's dock connector (you know, licensing fees or litigation from not paying those fees) the makers of iControlPad are going with Bluetooth.

The problem? Well, here's how they put it via twitter:

Something we kept secret: the iControlpad has a BT chip in it. To avoid the Apple connector we now need urgent help in supporting BT on iOS.

We hope they can get that product off the ground. However, this brings up an interesting point we have made in the past. We don't know how great of an idea a controller like this one is. Mainly because App developers will have to build it with the peripheral in mind. Otherwise, it seems like it would be a no-go. Those buttons have to be mapped out to something. Right?
