iPod Nano Isn’t Running on iOS After All

The new iPod Nano isn't actually running on any form of iOS. Very tricky, Apple. Well, not really, they never touted the new Nano as an iOS device. It looks pretty close, but that's because the software is designed to resemble iOS. At least it gives them some continuity between devices.

This was confirmed by an Apple spokesperson, in fact, it was the same person who said that the current Apple TV will not be getting a firmware update with the new features. They also noted that this system behaves very differently in some situations, with the main difference being its inability to use third-party Apps. Still, we figured it may be at the very least built off of the same system…just a little cut back.
