From the "Why Didn't I Notice That Before?" Department: sharp-eyed iPhone and Android users are just realizing that their implementations of the Google Mobile interface includes an option to search for their phone's apps directly. Searches on Android phones opens the Market app; the iPhone implementation, not surprisingly, does likewise with the iTunes App Store page.
Turns out the feature's been available since last June, and currently supports US-based app searches only, "with other countries and devices planned for the future."
So now ya know.
