Optical illusions using geometric patterns and moire overlays (i.e. a transparent sheet striped with black bars) are nothing new; you can bop over to Amazon and find books detailing the process here and here. Now YouTube user "BrussPup" has brought the technique into the 21st Century with the help of his iPad, as demonstrated in the above video. Think of it as the low-tech version of Holo-Paint's 3D text holograms.

this is a perfect example of where technology just got overused. just need another fuggin’ piece of paper to pull this off. no need for an $800 iPad. yeesh.
