Today, the Dev Team officially released GreenPois0n — two days after the anticipated 10/10/10 release was bunged up by geohot's competing jailbreaker, limera1n.
In an interesting twist of fate, the release announcement on Dev Team's blog includes the following: "Thanks to geohot for the bootrom USB exploit. We have opted to use that instead of SHAtter for the sake of exploit presevation."
The first release of GreenPois0n is Windows-only, and iOS 4.1 only. Those with an iPhone 4 and lower-version firmware should use TinyUmbrella to preserve their basebands. Otherwise, GreenPois0n supports iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touches 3G/4G, and iPads, with Apple TV 2G and iTouch 2G support imminent.

After days of dissing Geohot for limera1n the choose to use his exploit to produce greenpois0n. The funny thing is Cronics Shatter tool didnt or dont as of now anyway support half the devices that Limera1n does. So with that said anything less than thanks to geohot from cronic would be BS! They (Cronic) should make sure they hit the donate link ON limera1n.com, Whos jelous now!

are you retarded? they aren’t hipocrits they never said anything about geohotz exploit being bad, they said that because of geohot they have to scrap their work to use his in order to preserve the jailbreaking scene for future use. if they had used SHAtter, they would have exposed 2 exploits, meaning apple could fix both on the next ios devices. they dissed him because he chose to upstage them and steal their thunder, as he always has done.
And who is upstaging who? Geohot started the whole unlocking scene! Aka the first person to unlock a iPhone. The first to jailbreak the 3GS. You my friend are too young to know or too stupid to know. One man upstaging a whole team of cronic dev’s! Lol either way you roll the dice Hasan, Geohot is the man when it comes to jailbreaks.
Plus shatter only worked on iPhone4. Leaveing many of us out.
does unlocking work when your phone comes with the latest baseband and its JB’d with ultrasn0w? anyone test?
05.14.02 cannot be unlocked yet. it is rumored that unlock exisits but will not be released till ios 4.2 in november
