Some users who are on their iPad may notice something a little weird about this update, their sound appears to be gone. It’s a bit alarming at first, but there’s not need to worry–you’re iPad is fine.
Here’s the likely scenario: You had your iPad orientation locked before the update. The update turned that into a mute button. Just flip the switch that you used to lock the orientation, and you are good to go.
Now, how about that orientation lock? No problem. Just double-click the Home button to bring up the multitask dock.
From there, swipe (left to right) to bring up your iPod controls (pictured above in landscape and below in portrait). The icon in the bottom left corner of the screen is the new orientation lock. The circular arrow will show the little lock icon in the center when your orientation is locked.
On another note, there is currently no way to change the switch’s function on your iPad. We don’t know what went behind that choice, but it’s definitely not convenient.
