Hard to believe we’re approaching the tenth anniversary of the iPod, and all that’s followed in its wake: iTunes, iPhones, Apple TV, sales figures set and broken, paradigms shifted, etc. You’d need a roadmap to keep track of it all.
Would you settle for an infographic timeline? Good. Filip Chudzinski has done just that: a radial chart that pinpoints the significant moments in the iDevice’s first decade. If the above overhead view doesn’t give you much in the way of detail, zooming in closer gives only a hint of the magnitude of the project:
The timeline is intended to be blown up and displayed wall-size, which will be a cinch since it’s all done in vector graphics. The most amazing thing is that all of Chudzinski’s hard work is a labor of love; he has no plans to market the chart in any way, shape or form. In fact, what you’re seeing now is an in-progress beta of Version 2 of the chart; right now, only low-rez JPEG’s/wallpapers are available, while the final version is (tentatively) scheduled for a late November 2010 release. Clear some wall space accordingly… Thanks to Beautiful Pixels for a great find.
