iPad LCD suppliers such as LG Display, Samsung and Chimei Innolux are said to be supplying screens for as many as 65 million iPads for 2011, with LG's displays making the majority of those shipped screens. It's likely that the screens in manufacturing are for the upcoming iPad 2, which we heard will come in three versions.
While it's reported that this is a positive sign for the device, given that these shipments are based on anticipated demand, some say it could be more than the company needs.
According to some reports, that the company has been known to order more flash memory than needed in order to drive prices down by overstocking. It's also possible that they are doing it in the event of highter-than-expected demand or the possibility of manufacturing problems.
