Looking for iPhone cases? Whether you need cases for iPhone 3GS or for the iPhone 4, there are tons of choices out there. We thought we would help out those who are new to the iPhone (perhaps you got an iPhone for Christmas this year) and want to protect their cool new handset. We have a few suggestions. You may notice that we’ve done all our linking to Amazon. This is for a simple reason: Most people out there probably already have an Amazon account. It’s like the Wal-Mart of online retail–everybody goes there.
Let’s take a look at some of the cases available for the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4 after the jump:
OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 4 (Link)
For those of you who got an iPhone 4 this year. It’s a nice case with favorable Amazon reviews. It even has a polycarbonate cover (the stuff they make those scratch-resistant glasses out of) to protect the screen. It’s made up of three layers, so it’s a little bulky, but will definitely be a lifesaver if your iPhone takes a drop.
OtterBox Defender Case for iPhone 3GS, 3GS (Link)
The case is a bit pricey, but it’s nice and protective and has very favorable customer reviews on Amazon.
OtterBox Impact Case for iPHone 3G, 3GS (Link)
Same folks who make the defender case, but this one is lower-priced. Rubbery cases like these are some of our favorite because they provide a nice grip and absorb impact.
iPhone Screen Protector (link)
We will be honest: In our opinion, there is little reason to have a screen protector. It slightly dulls out the display, and it’s not going to do much if you drop the iPhone (chances are it will shatter anyway). However, it will protect from minor nicks and scratches.
Speck Prodcuts Pixel Skin iPhone Case (Link)
Another nice case that doesn’t break the bank. It’s also designed for the iPhone 3GS and 3G.
About iPhone 4 Cases
You may notice that we didn’t list many iPhone 4 cases. That’s because it’s hard to find a good case for the device. Many of the reviews on Amazon will show that the third-party bumpers don’t fit correctly, etc. We also know that some cases can actually damage the iPhone 4. It’s probably best to just go with the official bumper (link), but we do think it’s a tad overpriced.
