The daily is free for two weeks. Still, if you are already enjoying the new publication, you may be planning to pay for that subscription when the trial period is over, so let's take a look at how to do that. Keep in mind that if you DO subscribe right now, you WILL be charged. It's best to hold off for two weeks until the free trial ends. Believe us, we found out the hard way. Oh well. It's a dollar. No Big Mac for our editor today.
Subscribing is pretty easy for anyone who has already made purchases on the App Store with the iPad.
You will simply go to the settings (bottom right arrow) and hit the gear. The next screen should look like this:
Hit Subscribe, and you will get two subscription choices. 99 cents a week or $39.99 a year. Choose an option and enter your password:
Here's your last chance so say yes or no:
You will receive a confirmation email. The service will automatically renew your subscription every week until you cancel.
Now that was easy.
Unsubscribing is a little trickier. It took us a while to figure it out, but here's what you have to do:
Open iTunes App on iPad. That's right, you will have to launch the iTunes App, not the App Store. It's also worth knowing that you can't access this on your computer. It has to be the iPad. We aren't sure why, perhaps it will come with a future update for the desktop version of iTunes.
Scroll down and hit the "Account" button:
Sign in with your Apple ID, or simply hit View Account if you are already signed in:
From there, you will be able to access your Subscriptions (Manage App Subscriptions):
From here you can adjust your subscription settings: You can see when it renews and you can turn off auto-renewal (which will cancel your subscription when the next week comes up):
We aren't sure why you can't manage it from within the App or why iTunes on your computer doesn't allow you to manage them. As we mentioned before, we figure it may just have to come with a future update. Who knows. It's weird, but at least now you know how to do it.
