We've already heard several rumors about the iPhone 5, which is no doubt going to be announced by the time June rolls around. Now, a supposed leaked photo said to be coming from the website a Chinese reseller of iPhone parts has surfaced.
While the overall size and design seem similar to current iPhone models, the screen looks to have grown considerably. This may be the four-inch display we've been hearing about for the past few weeks, designed to compete with some of the newer Android handsets that are equipped with displays that are much larger than the iPhone. The thinner bezel supports the rumors we've heard about the possibility of an edge-to-edge design for the iPhone 5.
As you can see from the photo, this design still seems to have the space for the Home Button, so you can probably count that rumor out for now. That is, if this is actually the front panel of the device.
As far as iPhone rumors go, we know that it will probably carry the A5 processor, and be equipped with Qualcomm's dualmode GSM and CDMA-compatible chip, indicating that the iPhone 5 may in fact arrive on both Verizon and AT&T at the same time.
This leak comes just days before a special Apple event scheduled for March 2, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Apple's usual venue. The cryptic invite was sent out earlier this week to select members of the press, and included a vague image that we are still trying to figure out the meaning of:
We are sure we will be hearing an iPhone 5 release date in a similar fashion come June 2011.
