Today, Rovio has released the latest version of Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio. The game is based on‚Äö√Ñ√Æthough we don’t know how closely‚Äö√Ñ√Æ20th Century Fox’s upcoming animated film, Rio. You know, the one with Jesse Eisenberg, the zombie hunter / Facebook movie guy.
In this game, the Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to “the magical city of Rio de Janeiro” in Brazil. The gameplay will remain the same, you launch birds with a slingshot and try to destroy piggies in their little forts. As for how it ties into the movie, the game’s description says that the birds are trying to rescue their friends, two rare macaws who also happen to be the stars of the film.
As for the game’s features, we’ll leave that up to the App description page:
- Two fantastic episodes with 60 exciting levels!

They also say that users should expect episodic updates throughout the year. If you’re a fan of Angry Birds, then this ones for you, we’re sure as the formula remains unchanged.
