AT&T Offering iPad for $200 Off — What’s the Catch?

If you're looking for an iPad 3G, right now may be the time as AT&T is offering a deal if you buy direct from them.

AT&T recently sent out one of those wonderful mass emails they send to all their subscribers and announced that you can pick up an iPad wifi + 3G for $200 off. Of course right now you're wondering what the catch is. Read on.

They are offering the discounted price on the iPad 1. Yeah, no iPad 2 in this deal. Still kinda spiffy if you don't mind the original model, which is not a bad tablet at all. In fact, some of the iSmashPhone staff has decided to stick to their first-gen iPad, because it's good enough for now. So if you're interested, they're priced as follows:

16GB – $429

32GB – $529

64GB – … is also $529?

Yeah…that one should be a hard choice. Unless supplies run out. Anyway, they are also offering their free month of data, which we originally figured was for the iPad 2, seems to be in effect for the first-gen tablet as well. 

Aside from that, AT&T is saying that they are not offering refunds or exchanges on an iPad purchased at that promo price, and of course it's only good for as long as they have iPads left over. In other words, they're just clearing inventory.
