Good news for those of you who bought an iPad 2 in hopes that a jailbreak would be just around the corner.
Just under two days after released iPad 2 was jailbroken by Comex. By finding an exploit in iOS 4.3, the famed iOS device hacker was the first to jailbreak Apple’s latest tablet computer.
This was all announced it via Tweet, which is shown below:
Linked was the headline image we used above of an iPad 2 with Cydia installed.
Comex also posted the following Tweet regarding the jailbreak:
would’ve had it yesterday if I didn’t have to spend 1.5 days looking for a replacement exploit (which came from a most unexpected place…)
Not long after, Comex’s initial announcement, the iPhone Dev-Team posted their own tweet confirming the jailbreak, saying the following:
Congrats to @comex for jailbreaking yet another brand new device (iPad2) while 2500 miles away from it!
There aren’t many details about the jailbreak yet. For instance, we don’t know if it’s tetehred or untethered, or whether it works on other devices running iOS 4.3. Still, most websites say that it will more than likely be untethered. Either way, the good news is that it now seems as if the jailbreak will come sooner than later.
As always, we will keep our ears to the ground and post any updates on the jailbreak as the new becomes available.
