What do you think of N.O.V.A. running on Epic Game's popular game engine, Unreal Engine 3? If the following rumor is true, that may just happen.
Website Pocket Gamer is reporting that developer Gameloft is working on a third N.O.V.A. game.
N.O.V.A. is a popular first-person shooter for iOS that takes a cue from Halo, but scales things down to iPhone and iPad size.
According to the report, "Gameloft has confirmed…it's busy working on four games utilizing Epic Game's Unreal Engine 3" adding that "word has it that shooter sequel N.O.V.A. 3 is among the four titles built around the engine and will be out later this year."
N.O.V.A. is probably Gameloft's most popular iOS series, and if the rumor is true (it's hard to imagine them not going for the Unreal Engine with this game) it will be worth seeing what the engine behind Chair Entertainment's hit iOS game Infinity Blade will do for other types of games.
It's nice to see that some of these iOS games are getting more recognition, it may take a while before they can win more console gamers over, but to us a game is a game. You enjoy gaming because you love interactive entertainment, don't limit yourself to one platform, because you never know what you might miss.
In fact, you should check out our list of best iOS games of 2010. Sure, the list was made back in December, but these games are still great.
