iPhone Church Membership Apps
The iPhone is no longer a simple novelty or the side kick of technocrats, it has shifted into the mainstream because of its constant aid to productivity. The App Store acts as a revolutionary vehicle bringing us apps for almost every purpose, product, idea, and institution. Even the faith community has found this to be a major aid, allowing scripture and religiously themed apps to be directed right to your mobile phone. Larger churches have even begun to develop apps of their own, and church membership software for the iPhone has become one of the newest edition to the genre of spiritually themed iPhone apps. Here is a look at a few of the more interesting pieces of church membership software for the iPhone.
iChurch
Though it is not cheap at $49.99, iChurch stands out as the most universal and effecient church membership software for the iPhone. With iChurch you will be able to tap into your entire church membership listing, as well as people who are about to become members of the church and groups within the larger congregation. From here you will even be able to come together with information about that members family or groups, contact information that can be linked directly from within iChurch, and even maps to their home from the church location. This will work with Church Management Systems and really does tap great for mega churches with huge membership inventories.
iPastor
iPastor may be the free iPhone app alternative to iChurch, and it provides many of the church management tools that you will need. This is a consistent church membership software for the iPhone in that it allows you to track church congregants by the type of association they have with your church, categorize their needs, assign tasks to other church members, include contact information, and generally involve yourself further in the situation of each congregant. The way that this is structured is different than with other iPhone church membership apps because it allows you to really structure your information around how you feel you can really assist and involve particular church community members, and it is all manual and directed right through the iPhone app rather than a larger base church management software.
F1 Touch
F1 Touch runs a little more "straight to the point" than both iPastor and iChurch, mainly just because it works more like a management program directed towards a church rather than a more theme iPhone church membership app. Just as the others, F1 Touch will allow you to search through member lists and then choose the ones you want, setting up contact profiles for them. You can also create household lists for members so you know who is where and that way you can create networks to meet family needs. The interface is relatively simple, but it allows you to tie directly into things like the iPhone's phone call functionality and sending emails through it.

ChurchDB was the only online church management system when we search for one starting over 10 years ago. ChurchDB has grown and improved into a superior church management system, and it pays for itself!

Wanted to add that IconCMO, another great church software, recently launched their iPhone Lite app and fully-functional iPad Web App. Here’s the full article about this here: http://churchtechtoday.com/2011/08/03/icon-systems-launches-church-software-ipad-web-app/
Note that IconCMO is the only church software company out there that offers a fully-functional web app that include fund accounting features in the app and software. This is a great resource for church staff on the go!
Thanks,
Lauren
