A few days back, a friend of mine posted on his Facebook wall, "WII, X box Kinetic or PS3 , what will the kids like ?" and I swiftly replied "WII, for sure". Following other comments, one comment got me thinking while on the same way round, got me browsing to search for details. "A successor for its Wii home console is to be released soon, so wait…" is what the comment voiced. Tried to get hold on the news from almost every source I knew, in return was welcomed with a huge amount of speculation and rumors. But today, Nintendo announced in an official statement on the newer version of the Wii home console, to be announced at this year's E3 conference.

For quite some time the gadget giant is rumored to be preparing a Wii 2 or Wii HD console which would replace and roll in a wide array of features including high-definition capability to upgraded hardware and an all-new controller with a built-in screen. In an update, Nintendo revealed:

Nintendo Co. Ltd has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011. We will show a playable model of the new system and announced more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9 2011 in Los Angeles.

Moreover, some rumors have suggested that the new device could be called Stream, loading some advanced hardware specs which would put the device ahead of the rivals like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Furthermore, Nintendo confirmed on releasing the device in 2012 but declined to commit on any time frame.
