Just pretend it’s thinner and has a Retina display or something.
What can we say? We knew the rumors were coming. This time around, they’re coming soon. So soon, in fact, that we had iPad 3 rumors before the iPad 2 was even concerned. Score one for Apple for suckering us all in to speculating on a device that’s over one generation away. Most of those who ordered their iPad 2 are still waiting for stock to arrive. Everyone else? They’re already trying to figure out what’s going to be built into the iPad 3.
This latest rumor says the tablet will contain a 2GHz dual-core processor. This rumor stems from the usual “high-ranking official” (via Digital Trends) with no name over at Samsung. He simply happened to mention that they were working on a super fast smartphone processor. As many know, Samsung provided both the A4 and A5 processors, so this probably means that the iPad 3 will contain that 2GHz dual core chip, which if history has taught us anything, will be called the A6. Just a hunch.
While there have been rumors about the iPad 3 coming later this year, most of those are falling on the wayside as the rumors seem stronger that the iPhone 5 has been delayed slightly and will debut this fall rather than during the usual summer release window. There is no way that Apple will put out two of their biggest products side by side–they’d be competing with themselves.
