Good news for jailbreakers. You can jb iOS 4.3.3 untethered with Redsn0w and i0n1c's untether jailbreak.

A while back, i0n1c was able to create an untethered exploit for iOS jailbreaks. It worked very well. In fact, it still works, because it's been confirmed that with the latest iOS update (iOS 4.3.3), iOn1c's exploit still works. That's right, Apple hasn't patched it. Then again, this iOS update may have been pushed out quickly as damage control after the whole Locationgate fiasco from a few weeks back. As it is, this update, which we posted about yesterday, seemed like nothing more than a bug fix for a little screwup with cached location data:

iOS 4.3.3 Software Update

This update contains changes to the iOS crowd-sourced location database cache including:

– Reduces the size of the cache

– No longer backs the cache onto iTunes

– Deletes the cache entirely when location services is turned off

Products compatible with this software update:

– iPhone 4 (GSM Model)

– iPhone 3GS

– iPad 2

– iPad

– iPod touch (4th generation)

– iPod touch (3rd generation)

The actual news comes from @Comex, who posted the following on twitter:

@comex: @i0n1c’s bug is not patched in 4.3.3. #whatisthisidonteven

Perhaps the exploit will be patched with Apple's next major update? We're sure they will do something about it, and as we mentioned, this latest update was probably nothing more than damage control and good PR for the company.
