The iPad 2 is still proving to be a challenge to find for some. There are many tho haven't been able to purchase an iPad 2, because supplies are still so low. According to website SlashGear, the current backorder time in most states can be as high as two weeks.
Apple is hoping to cut that by adding a new supplier to their production chain, says a report from electronista. They have added Chimei Innolux, who will supply touch panels for the tablet and should have their first shipment by June. If true, it's possible that Chimei is handling the complete manufacturing process for any iPads they ship.
It's probably safe to say that the iPad 2 is doing well as far as sales go, and it's being severely limited by lack of supply.
