This sounds interesting, but it's hard to know how well it would work. The concept is very interesting as it is said to use the iPhone's display as a light source. From there, it uses the shadow and light information to create a 3D model. It's called Trimensional, and it looks pretty cool based on the video above.
A lot of the stuff we've read says is works well. The cool thing is that it's available on the App Store. The downside, of course, is that most of us probably don't have 3D printers. The App is 99 cents, and considering what it's actually capable of, that's not too bad.
Yeah, it's not the best for capturing a 3D image, but it's amazing what can be done with these fairly simple tools.
