Research in Motion's (RIM) BlackBerry 7 OS now as an SDK (software development kit), and it hints at some of the upcoming features of the BlackBerry OS.

According to the official site, it's adding some of the following: NFC (near-field communication) capabilities, which it seems is soon becoming a standard in smartphones. They also mention "updated rich graphics" a compass and even AR (augmented reality).

Here's the text from the image above:

"Create deeply integrated, graphically rich and contextually advanced mobile app experiences with the BlackBerry Java SDK v7.0 beta. New capabilities include AR (augmented reality) and Open GL ES 2.0 support. Combine these elements with the BBM Social Platform to create an addicting peer-to-peer mobile app experience."
