At today's D9 conference, HP CEO L?©o Apotheker talked about webOS. He explained that he wants webOS to be available across all platforms.
"We want to create a holistic ecosystem around webOS…we're putting it on phones, on our TouchPad tablet" which he adds is still on schedule to arrive this summer. He eventually hopes that the operating system can go on all their computers, "It will go on every PC that we'll ship."
When the folks at All Things D asked him whether that meant it would replace Windows, he didn't directly say, but he added that "in the beginning" they will ship the OS on top of Windows, adding that nonetheless, the intention remains to "get it out there on every PC."
