Android is growing fast. According to Google senior vp of mobile, Andy Rubin, Android activations are currently being activated at a rate of 500,000 per day. Yeah, half a million new Android devices are being connected to a cellular network each day.
Of course there are various devices on various carriers, but that's still a crapload of new handsets and tablets. He adds that it's growing at 4.4 percent worldwide.
The announcement was made via Twitter, on his verified account:
"There are now over 500,000 Android devices activated every day, and it's growing at 4.4% w/w"
Looks like Google's mobile OS is doing well.
