Apple has just updated their Time Capsule and AirPort Extreme. No announcement was made, not even a new splash page for those who visit Apple’s site. Then again, routers aren’t exactly Apple’s biggest place in the market.
The major difference right now is that upgraded capacity in Time Capsule. You can now purchase in 2TB and 3TB at $299 and $499 respectively, meaning the price points remain the same. The Airport Extreme’s page has also been updated, but nothing is mentioned about feature updates. Whether or not the rumors we heard about the AirPort Extreme and Time Machine being able to cache system updates are true isn’t yet made clear by Apple. We’re guessing that’s a feature they would mention, though.
