Five Percent of Web Browsing is Done on Mobile Devices

According to web analytics research firm Net Applications, mobile phones and tablets make up five percent of global web browsing, and just over eight percent in the US. In the US, the iPhone makes up 2.9 percent of browsing, Android devices are 2.6 percent, the iPad is 2.1. Smaller are the BlackBerry is at .57 percent, Symbian at .03, Java ME at .02 and Windows Mobile also at at .02 percent (source).

Furthermore, the iPad makes up just over one percent of browsing worldwide, says the report. Though that has grown quickly over the last year (as shown by the chart above). (Source)
