Erica Joy, a support tech at Google, said that the official Google+ App has been submitted to Apple and is awaiting approval. It was sent in earlier this week, and all users–and Google–can do now is play the waiting game. The said, “For my iPhone friends: the Google+ iPhone app has been submitted to the App store (no not today, sometime prior to today) and is awaiting approval.” (pictured above)
When someone mentioned “They can’t forget about the iPad,” Joy answered with, “Sorry, even though I have an iPad and not an iPhone, I always call iOS apps ‘iPhone apps’. I’m sure its something to do with conditioning.” Which some say may be an indication that it will also be available for iPad as a universal app.
Google+ has been growing pretty fast lately. You can argue that Google has a lot of brand power, but Wave and Buzz didn’t seem to take off. This, on the other hand, became so popular that Google had to shut down the invite system shortly after launch.
