While not as common as they were a few years back, belt holsters for your smartphone are still an easy-access option. But every single one of them has a potentially deadly built-in flaw: you wear your phone with the screen facing outward. The single most fragile component of your expensive handheld computer is basically "leading with its chin" every time you take a walk.
AG Findings has a better idea. Behold the Vandelay case/holster combo for the iPhone 4. At its heart is a hard two-piece slider shell (which comes in handy when you have to charge and/or sync: just remove the bottom half of the case and it'll fit any cable/docking-station solution out there). The encased phone then snaps into a belt holster with swivel clip. Pretty standard so far, but…wait! Your iPhone will fit into the holster screen-side out OR, better yet, screen-side in! And that's not all — the clip itself has a lock-open switch that allows it to double as a kickstand for desktop viewing. Very clever…
The Vandelay is available in red or carbon-fiber black finishes, and works with both AT&T and Verizon iPhones. It normally retails for US$34.99, but if you act now, the red version's on sale for only US$19.25.
