This is an interesting project. It’s paper airplanes made out of SMS messages sent and received between a couple in a long-distance relationship. It’s charming, and it looks kind of cool. But how does it work?
It’s a bit difficult to explain, but they used a coding framework called Processing. This analyzed the messages sent between the couple and looked at everything from length of texts to how many emotional words were in each message. It then decided how, based on factors such as those (text length, emotional words, etc), and created each paper airplane’s design.
The paper airplanes are on display, and you can see them in the image above. Each plane represents a text message. You can see the more here, via Christian Groß.
