Qualcomm is making their AR technology available to iOS developers.
A long time ago (just over a year ago, actually) we saw Qualcomm’s augmented reality (AR) technology. It looked pretty sweet. Remember the rock ’em sock ’em robot demo? That was when they launched the software development kit (SDK) for Android. Now they are releasing the SDK for iOS. It’s a year later, but it’s still pretty cool.
The idea, according to TechCrunch, is to make it easier for mobile developers to incorporate AR technology into their apps. This is something difficult for smaller developers to do if they are on a limited budget. The SDK would keep things simple as they would not have to build the tech from the ground up.
