This is a very cool concept case. It’s not a reality yet, but we think it would be awesome if it happened. It’s an iPad case that gives the tablet braille capabilities. Yeah, you read that right, this thing makes it possible for visually-impaired users to read on their iPad.
The case us called the Omnifer, and it’s designed by Jayson D’Alessandro. The case covers the iPad and approximately half of the screen. However, the case is designed to respond to light emitted from the tablet’s screen, based on that, it changes the braille. It does this by using gas to raise and lower the braille in order to create words for the user.
