According to reports, the iPhone 5 is due to land in Russia in November. This, they say, would be “almost immediately” after the handset launches in the States. This may also be a helpful indicator of when the iPhone 5 will hit the rest of the world.
As website The Next Web has found, these reports come from “sources close to handset retailers,” and they note that mobile carriers in Russia are working closely with Apple in order to ensure that their next smartphone launches in a timely manner.
This is especially important for iPhone users in Russia as in the past Apple products have been known to arrive as late as six months after the US launch. This leads to users acquiring their iPhones through other methods and makes it a bit more difficult to carriers to sell the product by the time it launches.
