As small as this may seem, this may be an interesting bit of information about the iPhone 5 design. It’s a Photo Stream icon showing what may be an iPhone 5, according to website 9to5Mac. The icon shows an iPhone with what appears to be a larger screen and the extended Home Button we’ve heard a bit about in the past.
Either way, we’ve heard many conflicting rumors and reports about the new handset, so it’s difficult to know whether or not this is any indication of what the iPhone 5 may look like. Still, it’s worth keeping in mind that Apple’s icons within their applications typically look a lot like their devices. Meaning that though small and pixelated, this may be the closest representation of the upcoming iPhone we get.
Either way, it’s interesting to look at. At least it’s somewhat from an official source, and may be a closer hint to the design than any of the allegedly leaked parts we’ve seen.
According to current rumors the iPhone 5 release date is set for early to mid-October with an announcement coming in September.
