Apple has finally decided on a display manufacturers for the iPad 3. They have been testing out potential iPad 3 displays for some time, and according to recent reports the new tablet will arrive in early 2012 (likely March-April) and sport a Retina display.
If Digitimes’ report is accurate, Opto-Electronics in Taiwan will be the main supplier of iPad 3 backlight units (BLUs). Meanwhile, LG Display, Samsung Electronics and Sharp will will provide the LCD panels for the tablet. LG will continue to be the company’s biggest supplier for said part.
