Okay. Try to act shocked here: Apple is working on a new iPad, and according to the Wall Street Journal, it’s going to arrive in early 2012.
If reports are accurate, Apple is already working with suppliers and a manufacturer to begin trial production.
According to the Journal, the upcoming iPad, which we figure will be called the iPad 3 (maybe they will go with iPad HD? Who knows?) will feature a high resolution display at 2048 x 1536. This is compared to the current model which is 1024 x 768. That’s stuff we all figured but this report just adds some credibility to those rumors.
Even this early in the game, it’s said that Apple has already placed orders for around 1.5 million iPad 3 units. It’s also said that Apple is definitely staying ahead of the competition in terms of specs as far as the next iPad is concerned.
In typical fashion, Apple is not going to comment, not that we’d expect them to.
