5 Apps for Your Enjoyment This Halloween

Ready for Halloween? It’s coming up fast. We hope you have your costumes and candy ready! If not. Oh well, maybe you can spend Halloween with the door locked and hiding from the Trick-or-Treaters. If you do, why not entertain yourself with a few apps?

Let’s take a look at five cool Halloween apps that will help the day pass.

1) ZombieBooth: 3D Zombifier – 99 cents

Zombies are all the rage these days. Zombies and vampires, it seems. 3D Zombifier is pretty much what it sounds like. It’s an app that turns an otherwise normal picture into a zombie. So if you’ve ever dreamed of being a flesh-eating ghoul, here’s your chance.

2) Ghost Capture – 99 cents

Ghost capture apps are always fun, especially around Halloween. You simply take a picture and then you can choose from a set of ghostly images. Place the ghost into the picture and adjust it’s size, transparency and overall placing. Sure, it’s not terrifying, but it’s fun.

3) Little Fear – Free

Little Fear is a free storybook by Byook. It’s a semi-interactive story, and it makes use of your Facebook account to plug in your name and the name of your city. Pretty cool. Each page turn is animated, and the images on the paper are very cool. We don’t think it’s quite for kids, but the app does say it’s recommended for ages 12 and up. That sounds about right.

4) The 7th Guest – 99 cents

The 7th Guest was a classic game that was part horror part puzzler. If memory serves me correctly, it was big around the time that games like Myst were popular. These games often had photo-realistic (or so they seemed at the time) or cg still backgrounds and players could explore the area. The game was highly-regarded at the time of its release, and it’s currently 99 cents on the App Store.

5) Halloween – 99 cents

Supposedly, this is “the only Halloween app they you’ll need to download.” They even have that annoying puppet from those million Saw movies that everyone stopped caring about. Well, the truth is, these folks made sure they didn’t leave anything out. The app has a Halloween countdown, sound effects, music, scary stories and recipes. Nice!

What do you recommend?

Those are just some of the many apps available for Halloween. There are plenty more, but we will keep looking for some of the ones that interest us. For now, why not let us know what some of your favorite Halloween apps are?
