Apple has confirmed that the iOS 5 update is affecting the battery life of some users iOS devices. They have confirmed that a few bugs with the OS are the cause of the problem.
Their official statement made to the media is as follows:
“A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.” (via Wired)
Good thing they have owned up to the problem. One iSmashPhone editor had issues with battery life until he turned off wifi sync on hi iPhone 4S. However, I had my iPhone 4 and have had no issues. Any dip in battery life has been minimal.
Either way, there are a few things you can do for now. Apple is working on a fix they say (and they are pretty consistent with those, especially under Forstall’s watch).
For now, why not troubleshoot your iPhone 4S (or iPhone 4 or any other device) and try a few of the following: here. It will get you through for now.
