Biome: Smart Garden Controlled By Your iPhone/iPad

Ever wished to control an external item with your iDevice? Samuel Wilkinson promoted an alternative use for smartphone and showcased a flora terrarium controlled by iPhone/iPad at an exhibition by Henrietta Thompson. The flora terrarium’s climate, water level and nutrients can now be controlled using a smartphone or iPad.

Samuel Wilkinson told:

The idea promotes ‘digital downtime’ by finding an alternative use for smartphones and encouraging their owners to consider a slower life. The control and nurturing of a real mini eco-system takes patience and care, contrasting with the immediacy of messaging or tweeting that is so characteristic of the smartphone generation.

Your personal garden has everything which can be controlled using your smart device. The garden has low energy lighting which can replicate sunlight and comes installed with various sensors which link back to the device when connected.

Biome comes designed with various types of environment; tropical, desert and even herb garden which can be controlled and maintained by almost everyone.
