AT&T Drops T-Mobile Bid

AT&T is going to drop their $39 billion bid for T-Mobile USA. Turns out the guvmint wasn’t planning on letting it happen.

Scooping up T-Mo would have made AT&T the biggest carrier in the US by far. They also would have had full control of the GSM market. This is after many objections from the government, and the Justice Department suing back in August in hopes of blocking the merger as they felt it would reduce competition, raising prices.
