According to Consumer Reports, AT&T is the worst carrier in the US. Verizon was rated best while Sprint and T-Mobile were also called “significantly better” than AT&T.
Here is what they had to say:
“Of the four major U.S. national cell-phone standard service providers, Verizon again scored the highest in this year’s Ratings, followed closely by Sprint. Survey respondents gave very good scores to Verizon for texting and data service satisfaction, as well for staff knowledge.”
It seems the major problem with AT&T, for users, is that the service isn’t great and the value for the money they pay is not quite worth it. Of course, this is all according to those users. Not to say that they are wrong, but we think there can be more factors. Yes, AT&T is expensive compared to other carriers, in our experience. However, in our area, it seems to work very well and we have no issues with calls or data speed where we live. However, AT&T is notoriously bad in major cities like San Francisco.
