Flipboard is an awesome app for the iPad. Now, it’s an awesome app for the iPhone. Don’t believe us? Phil Schiller says it is, and he is definitely not obligated to say nice things about a third-party app on Twitter if he doesn’t want to. But in all seriousness, Flipboard has always been an excellent app, and now that it’s on iPhone, it will be even cooler. One problem. We haven’t used it.
Rather than write a review, we will tell you what happened. Flipboard announced that they were going to be doing this and had users create an account. This would allow for our iPad settings, etc. to be used on our iPhone with minimal hassle. The only problem is that Flipboard is pretty freakin’ popular. They even had to tweet to say the following:
“Due to high demand, our service is currently down, we are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
It’s so popular, in fact, that their servers crashed and our settings are trapped away until things are back up and running. We just hope that first-time users aren’t turned-off by this outage, because it really is an awesome app. We use it all the time on the iPad, so we expect to see good things from the iPhone app.
Consider this a semi-review in that we would love to go hands-on with it, but it seems that everyone else is doing it too at the moment. Just kick back and wait for things to start working again.
