That Apple HDTV we’ve been hearing so much about? Seems that Foxconn may score the contract for it. That is according to Digitimes, which seems to have close contact with all the major suppliers. Right now, everyone is calling it iTV. Seems fitting.
We’ve heard that Samsung and Sharp will manufacture the displays and chips respectively. It’s also said that Foxconn will be assembling the units. If Digitimes’ report is accurate, Apple should have the hardware finalized by Q2 of 2012 and place orders immediately after. If that all pans out as planned, the TV set will arrive by the end of 2012.
We will just have to see. Still, there are plenty of rumors about the so-called iTV already.
