Apple Uses More Semiconductors Than Anyone Else

iPhone 4S

Apple is doing very well. They are doing amazingly, actually. In fact, according to research from research firm Gartner, Apple is a huge buyer of silicon parts.

The company spent a whopping $17 billion on semiconductors in 2011, according to Gartner’s research, which is 5.7 percent of total silicon purchasing.

Based on the research, that’s a 34.6 percent increase over 2010, so they are definitely growing. No doubt thanks to the popularity of their iOS devices, mostly the iPhone and iPad. The MacBook Air is also doing fairly well.
