Some of us still have our doubts about the iPhone 5 / iPhone 6 losing the Home Button. Sure, it can happen, but it doesn’t seem all that likely. Heck, we even remember those old reports saying the the Home Button would be elongated. Which is it? Either way, this is just a fun mock-up that someone created. It’s their vision of what the next iPhone will look like.
It loses the traditional home button, and makes use of two buttons on either side of the phone. It also makes the iPhone a bit wider and adds more screen real-estate. It’s not my dream iPhone, but it’s an interesting concept nonetheless.
The concept is by Kris Groen, and the Home Button change works for two reasons, he says. First, it allows more room for the screen, which is larger in this mock-up. Two, it moves the microphone and speaker over on the handset, which could, if Apple so wanted, make it capable of outputting stereo sound as it would now have a speaker on either side.
