iOS hacker Pod2g recently posted a video on YouTube showing off an untethered jailbreak running on an iPhone 4s loaded with iOS 5.0.1.
The jailbreak seems to work fine based on the video, and in it, Dustin Howett of the Chronic Dev Team is credited for the jailbreak. According to Pod2g, the wait won’t be long for the untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and the iPad 2, both of which run on the Apple’s A5 chip, and have been notoriously hard to jailbreak.
This just goes to show that the jailbreak teams will work tirelessly until they can come up with a jailbreak solution. The iPad 2 is approaching the one year mark and people are preparing for the iPad 3 which is expected to follow Apple’s release schedule and arrive around March of 2012.
