According to Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, sources from a major TV component supplier have informed him that Apple had contacted them about the capabilities of their TV displays.
Munster says that this is more evidence that Apple is working on introducing a television of some sort in the near future. There have also been meetings in asia according to website Electronista. These say that Apple has been looking into manufacturing facilities for TVs as large as 50 inches.
As for content, there are a few ideas as to how it may be provided. Services like Hulu and Netflix come up as do live TV broadcasting or monthly subscriptions to content ”a-la-carte,” which actually sounds kind of cool.
It’s still unknown how Apple would approach it, and it’s all rumor for now. Well, except for the fact that the Wall Street Journal has written about it, so that makes it about 90 percent true.
It’s said that Apple may incorporate Siri’s voice control features to their upcoming television set.
