Apple has confirmed that they will be building a data center in Prineville, Oregon. It will be alongside fellow tech giants Amazon, Google and Facebook. They picked up 160 acres for the facility a nice $5.6 million.
When asked about the confirmation, there was very little the company could reveal. A spokesperson said “we purchased that land and it’s for a data center,” and was not able to reveal anything more than that.
There is also the huge data center in North Carolina, which we learned about a couple years back. It’s still around and is said to be built to handle services such as iCloud. You can read more about that data center below:
