Apple Preparing for iPad 3 Showing – Graphics Heavy Applications?

iPad 2 Black and White Models

Apple is reportedly preparing for their March showing of the iPad 3. The company is said to be in “crunch mode” as they prepare to unveil their next-generation tablet to the masses. It’s already been reported that the tablet will be shown off during the first week of March. What else is Apple doing to prepare?

Apple Reportedly in Crunch Mode

Apple is said to be in a crunch mode as they prepare for the showing. This likely includes slides for the keynote, possible videos for the presentation, statistics, rehearsals and anything else that the Cupertino-company has planned. It’s likely that the event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. This is Apple’s usual venue for these sorts of presentations and we look forward to seeing them pull it off.

Preparing Graphics-Heavy Applications

The Next Web is reporting that Apple is in the process of choosing apps that will be shown off for the presentation. These will of course be demoed to show the capabilities of the new high-resolution display. Here’s a portion of the original report from The Next Web:

Our sources tell us that this selection process is continuing at an increased rate as Apple looks to finalize the lineup for the iPad 3. There is also emphasis on graphics-oriented applications with high-definition assets, which appears to be in line with the new iPad featuring a ‘Retina’ display.

High-definition graphics in iOS games? Yes please.

Preparing TV Ads as well?

Apple is also said to be preparing ads. The Next Web makes mention of that as well:

In addition, some apps that Apple is impressed with are being forwarded on to its long-time advertising partner TWBA/Chiat/Day for possible inclusion in the initial iPad 3 commercial spots. This process is entering its final phase as well, with the company on a tight deadline to deliver assets for playback during the presentation and later, television broadcast.

Looking forward to it?

It’s already known that Apple releases updates each year. It’s not really a surprise anymore. However, we are always eagerly waiting the reveal, a good deal of that excitement for us is just to find out how many of the rumors we’ve been hearing turn out to be true. The rest is just wanting to see what the new device looks like.

We look forward to seeing the next tablet from Apple, and we hope it doesn’t’ fail to impress.
