Apple is going to be streaming a Paul McCartney concert live on Apple TV and on users’ Macs via iTunes.
You can see the image above when you launch the iTunes Store. The concert is free as it’s to promote his new album Kisses on the Bottom. The show is on Feb. 9. The tech news in this, according to Ars, is that it’s going to serve as a way for Apple to test Apple TV’s ability to broadcast live.
Whether this is in anyway a testbed for the rumored Apple HDTV isn’t’ clear, but it’s definitely going to help Apple gauge how well their servers can live broadcast to the many viewers who will be tuned into the show.
